A letter from my brother to me :-)
April 13th 2008,
Just got back from a 7 day visit with my Sister and her 2 boys (Joshua and Christopher Corey).
I had not seen or had a chance to spend any real time with Teresa since I was about 14yrs. old and she was 18yrs.
I was coming to hang out, help out, and in general give as much support as possible ...I realized that being
in the moment with them meant I would be leaving my preconceived ideas at the door.
I think this is why I had a blast!
Other than the moments when Josh was experiencing pain ( usually moving from point A to point B), I
realized that we were having a heck of allot more fun than any preconception would have allowed for.
Between watching movies and TV programs (both downstairs in the living room, and upstairs in Josh's room) ,
eating home cooked meals, ordering Chinese take-out and going out to eat, I had a chance to reconnect with
Teresa and to get to know my nephews much better.
Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of stuff that needed to be done, some of which I could help with, most of
which Teresa usually did herself and/or with the sweet people that would stop by to help with juicing or drop off
laundry...or...
I feel very fortunate to have been allowed to be with them at this crucial point in Josh's Healing ; to be part of
The Dance they've been doing much more gracefully than most others in similar situations.
I know that the decisions they are making now, and the ones they've made leading up to this moment, have
been a part of that Dance.
Good luck with the surgery and heal fast!
Love To You,
Tommy Victor
P.S.
See you guys after the surgery.
